Procedures
Entrances and Exits- No students should be in the dance room without the instructor. Students will be escorted to the next class by the instructor. WALK QUIETLY please.
Water Fountain- ONE student at a time with the water fountain pass. Students should not wander in the hallways.
Audio Equipment- Students are not allowed to operate the audio equipment.
Mirrors- No running, sliding, or playing around mirrors. Students will NOT be seated against the mirrors at any time.
Outside door- DO NOT OPEN IT.
Locker Rooms – Student have 5 minutes to dress out and meet the class at the gray door entrance to the dance room. Excessive tardiness will be regarded as skipping. Students will not go back to the locker room once the class has entered the dance room.
Doors- Please do not jerk on door handles.
Dance Notebook - Your notebook grade makes up 35% of your dance class grade. Notebook organization and warm-up completion is very important. Keep your note entries in the correct order. The date should be on each entry. Be sure each one is COMPLETED. Your name should be on the cover of your notebook.
HOMES- Go to your assigned seat on the dance floor IMMEDIATELY after completing the warm-up. Please sit on your assigned line. Do not switch places with any other students.
Absences
Whenever the student is absent he/she is responsible for making up do-now entries. The dance instructor will have the assignment for the student. First, the student must go to 3 classmates to catch up on the missed choreography and warm-ups. The student will be held responsible for practicing the movements at home.
Supplies
Writing Utensil (EVERYDAY!!!)
Students are required to dress out. Students should wear comfortable clothes that do not restrict movement. All students should be in appropriate attire.
Fingertip length athletic shorts or Sweat pants (not to be worn OVER your school clothes) Tops that cover hips are expected when wearing tights.
T-Shirts (preferably solid color)
Always wear or bring socks
*Dance Notebooks will be provided*
Locks – students who leave their belongings in the Locker room will need to purchase a lock for the locker. Students have the option of bringing their belongings back into the dance room. Students are responsible for their own items.
